Important beach essentials people forget to take!!

Writer's picture: AlwaysKimberlyyyAlwaysKimberlyyy

The worst feeling to have is once you arrive at the beach and realizing you forget the most important essentials you needed. I hope I can help you not experience this situation for the first time or the second time.

For some reason, every time I arrive at the beach or right when I need something, I remember that I forgot to bring it and it’s a slap to the forehead kind of feeling. The worst part is having to drive and look for a store which most likely sells beach food and necessities at a higher price AND having to find parking again on a busy crowded beach day where there is so much traffic. We all want to go to the beach prepared and feeling good about not forgetting anything. I hope my tips can help prevent you from forgetting to bring those crucial necessities for your beach day!

You can think of this particular blog post as a beach essential checklist☑️

Tupperware containers

If you go on beach trips with friends or family, and sometimes it’s a potluck style or having bagged up snacks, and sometimes there may be leftovers that you want to take for the ride home or want to take it home. In the past, I remember seeing people throw away their leftovers because they did not have plastic bags or containers to put their food in. So, don’t forget to bring plastic baggies with preferably a ziplock or plastic containers to secure the food from having sand. By protecting our beaches and oceans please be careful with any bags flowing away!

Hangers

If you’re staying there the whole day, I’m sure you’ll want a fire pit to cook your food or make s’mores with the family. I've seen this situation happen when someone brings the Graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallows but forget to bring the most important thing which is a wire hanger. The worst part about not bringing it is we don't either eat s’mores, or we eat them cold. So next time you're going to the beach bring a wire hanger or anything that allows you to cook s’mores in a fire pit.

Aloe Vera

Luckily, I rarely get sunburned, but I have some friends that get sunburned pretty bad and spend the rest of their beach day in pain. Aloe Vera is helpful for so many reasons, primarily for sunburns, so don’t forget to bring this product with you when you’re about to hang there all day.

Condiments

If you like having condiments on your food, then don’t forget to bring some. Some stores sell those travel size condiments, and those are great to buy ahead of time and keeping them stored. We always bring chips at the beach, and suddenly you hear someone saying, “Did anyone bring hot sauce?” and the reply is usually “No.” I'm the type of girl who needs some kind of spicy sauce so for sure I always bring it and everyone else uses it. Next time don’t forget to bring your hot sauce, salsas, lemon, ketchup or whatever you need for your particular food!

Toilet paper

OMGOSH I cannot stress this enough, the bathrooms at our beach are the grossest I’ve ever seen. Plus their toilet paper quality SUCKS and me being so sanitary I always put a bunch of toilet paper to cover the toilet seat but sometimes there is not enough or worst case scenario there is no more toilet paper! Save yourself the struggle and bring your own, you will thank yourself for bringing your own good clean quality toilet paper.

Hand soap

When you're at the beach, your hands are always dirty so don’t forget to bring that hand soap because some beaches do not offer soap. I know my local beach has no soap dispenser and just water and that alone won’t give me clean hands.

Baby powder

I find it annoying when sand gets stuck on my feet and legs, and right before I go inside the car, it's impossible to get rid of all the sand off my body. I learned this trick on Youtube that if you put baby powder on your legs or anywhere on your lower body it prevents the sand from sticking to you. I have yet to try this trick, but I have a good feeling it might work.

First aid kit

It’s a good idea to carry a first aid kit anywhere you go like to the park, theme park, and in this case at the beach too. Sometimes accidents happen whether stepping on a glass in the sand or getting a cut from a seashell or rocks etc. By having at least a small first aid kit can be a life saver! Stores sell big to small first aid kits but they can be pricey, but they are easy to make. I would carry one in my car at all times to be on the safe side. You can also create your very own beach first aid carrying specifically for a beach accident.

Plates +cups +napkins forks/spoons

We can get excited about going to the beach and taking our favorite snacks and food that we can sometimes end up forgetting the most essential parts such as plates, cups, and napkins. In one of our beach trips with friends we forgot to bring spoons for out food and we had to invent our own spoons lol So please don’t be like us and bring your essentials for your food.

Table + chairs+ umbrella+ blankets

If your planning on staying the whole day then defiantly don’t forget these things because most likely you’ll be using these all day and night.

In the many times, I've been to the beach either me or friends, and family forgets to bring at least one of these essentials. By having this list, it can prepare both of us to carry these important beach essentials! (:
